大田黒 奉之（OTAGURO Tomoyuki）- 翻訳家

大田黒 奉之は、音楽家や起業家の伝記、ビジネスなどの英語の著作を手がける翻訳家。京都大学法学部を卒業し、洋楽への関心からミュージシャンの伝記などの翻訳で仕事を始めた。フィル・ナイトの『SHOE DOG』では、ナイキが成長する過程を創業者の回想から訳した。『サードドア』は、著名な人物への取材を試みる若者の行動を追う記録である。マイケル・ケインの『わが人生。』では、俳優としての仕事や成功、家族についての経験を扱う。

Tomoyuki Otaguro translates English-language biographies and books on business. He graduated from Kyoto University’s Faculty of Law and began his career translating musicians’ biographies, drawing on his interest in Western popular music. His translation of Phil Knight’s Shoe Dog follows Nike’s development through its founder’s recollections. Alex Banayan’s The Third Door records a young man’s attempts to interview accomplished figures. Michael Caine’s Blowing the Bloody Doors Off, published in Japanese as Waga Jinsei, concerns the actor’s experiences of work, success, and family.
