大岩 烈（OIWA Retsu） - 表面分析技術研究者

大岩烈は、超高真空や表面分析の装置開発に携わった研究者。オージェ電子分光など、物質の表面を詳しく調べる技術に取り組んだ。共著『ナノテクノロジー・表面分析の科学』では、原子や分子の規模で表面を観察する方法と、分析装置を使う意味を紹介した。

Retsu Oiwa has worked on ultrahigh-vacuum technology and the development of surface-analysis instruments. His work includes Auger electron spectroscopy. His coauthored public writing introduces ways of examining surfaces at atomic and molecular scales and explains the role of analytical instruments in that work.
