Shoichi Oikawa (born 1941) is a Japanese journalist and newspaper executive who serves as Chairman and Editor-in-Chief of Yomiuri Shimbun Holdings. After joining *The Yomiuri Shimbun* in 1964, he worked as a political reporter, Washington correspondent, managing editor, and president of both the Osaka and Tokyo headquarters before assuming his current role. Drawing on more than five decades of reporting from the center of Japanese politics, he has written extensively on political leadership and postwar Japanese government. His best-known book, *Seijika no Kyōchū: Nikusei de Tadoru Seijishi no Genba* (*Inside the Minds of Politicians: An Oral History of Postwar Japanese Politics*), examines Japan's political leaders through firsthand reporting and interviews, offering an insider's perspective on the evolution of postwar politics.
