Noam Chomsky (born 1928) is an American linguist, cognitive scientist, and political thinker. A longtime professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), he revolutionized modern linguistics through the development of generative grammar. His best-known book, "Media Control," examines the relationship between information, political power, and public opinion in democratic societies.
