Kuniko Nonaka is a Japanese translator specializing in English-language nonfiction. Born in Tokyo, she graduated from the Department of Painting at Tama Art University. Over the course of her career, she has translated a wide range of works in history, culture, art, society, economics, science, and biography, earning a reputation for translations that are both accurate and highly readable. Through her work, Nonaka has introduced numerous influential nonfiction titles to Japanese readers and has made a significant contribution to the development of nonfiction publishing in Japan. She has also collaborated on translations with her husband, the late translator Chikara Suzuki.
