Yu Nomiya (born 1993) is a Japanese novelist and manga story writer from Fukuoka Prefecture. After graduating from the Faculty of Economics at Nagasaki University, he made his literary debut by receiving the Selection Committee Encouragement Prize at the 25th Dengeki Novel Prize in 2018. His work spans crime fiction, coming-of-age novels, and manga stories, often exploring violence and morally precarious situations. His representative novel, “Koroshiya no Eigyojutsu,” won the 71st Edogawa Rampo Prize and the 2025 King’s Brunch Book Award and placed sixth in the 2026 Japan Booksellers’ Award. The novel follows a highly successful salesman who becomes entangled in the world of contract killing and relies on negotiation, persuasion, and the techniques of salesmanship to survive.
