Yoshikuni Noguchi was a Japanese dermatologist and medical researcher specializing in dermatology, allergology, and immunology. In 1952, he became the first professor of Yokohama City University’s independent Department of Dermatology, helping establish its emphasis on the immunological mechanisms of skin disease. His work connected clinical observation with laboratory research on drug eruptions, contact dermatitis, and skin infections. His book for general readers, “Anata mo Arerugi-byo: Naze Okiru ka, Do Sureba Naoru ka,” explains the causes and treatment of allergic disease. His research approached skin symptoms in relation to the body’s immune responses.
