略歴（Biography）
仁科斂（にしな れん、1994年生まれ）は、香港、上海、ロンドンで育った小説家、翻訳者。オックスフォード大学のPPE（哲学・政治学・経済学）コースを卒業し、東京大学大学院総合文化研究科に在籍するかたわら、多摩美術大学芸術学科で非常勤講師を務める。2024年、「さびしさは一個の廃墟」で新潮新人賞を受賞してデビュー。初の単行本『丹心／まごころ』は第175回芥川賞候補となった。中国の未完成マンションを美術館へ転用する計画に参加した若い建築家を主人公に、不動産開発をめぐる資本と欲望、日中間の緊張、複数の言語と文化の間で揺れる人々を描いている。
Ren Nishina (born 1994) is a Japanese novelist and translator who grew up in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and London. After completing the Philosophy, Politics and Economics program at the University of Oxford, Nishina entered the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at the University of Tokyo and became a part-time lecturer at Tama Art University. Nishina made a literary debut after receiving the Shincho Prize for New Writers in 2024 for "Sabishisa wa Ikko no Haikyo." The first book, "Tanshin/Magokoro," was shortlisted for the 175th Akutagawa Prize. Set around a project to convert an unfinished residential complex in China into an art museum, the novel examines property speculation, competing ambitions, tensions between Japan and China, and lives shaped by movement among different languages and cultures.
