Neil Root（ニール・ルート、1971年生まれ）は、イギリスのジャーナリスト、ノンフィクション作家、小説家。ロンドン生まれ。全国紙や雑誌、ウェブメディアで記者・ライターとして活動し、犯罪、警察、諜報活動、メディア史を中心に取材・執筆を続けている。英国犯罪史の研究者としても知られ、一次資料や公文書を駆使した緻密な調査に基づくトゥルークライム作品で高い評価を受けている。著書はこれまでに2度、Crime Writers' Association Gold Dagger for Non-Fictionのロングリストに選出された。ノンフィクションに加え、歴史ミステリー小説も執筆しており、犯罪史と社会史を結び付けた物語性豊かな作品で知られる。
Neil Root (born 1971) is a British journalist, nonfiction author, and novelist.
