Nate Silver（ネイト・シルバー、1978年生まれ）は、アメリカの統計学者、データジャーナリスト、作家。East Lansing生まれ。The University of Chicagoで経済学を学んだ後、野球選手の成績予測システム「PECOTA」を開発。2008年に統計分析サイト「FiveThirtyEight」を創設し、世論調査や統計モデルを用いた米国選挙予測で高い評価を得た。データ分析、確率論、リスク、意思決定をテーマに、複雑な現象を統計学の視点から分かりやすく解説する著作でも知られ、現代を代表するデータサイエンスの論客の一人とされる。2024年刊行の『オン・ジ・エッジ』（原題：On the Edge: The Art of Risking Everything）では、リスクを積極的に引き受ける人々や組織を通して、現代社会における意思決定と不確実性を考察している。著書に『シグナル＆ノイズ』『オン・ジ・エッジ』などがある。
