ナオミ・クライン（1970年–）は、企業の権力や経済格差、気候危機を取材するカナダのジャーナリスト。モントリオール生まれ。ブリティッシュコロンビア大学で気候正義の教授を務め、気候正義センターの共同ディレクターとしても活動する。戦争や災害、政変の混乱に乗じて民営化や市場主義的な経済改革が進められる過程を検証した『ショック・ドクトリン――惨事便乗型資本主義の正体を暴く』（原題 “The Shock Doctrine”）を2007年に発表。2014年には、化石燃料への依存や経済成長を優先する仕組みと気候変動の関係を論じた『これがすべてを変える――資本主義vs.気候変動』（原題 “This Changes Everything”）を刊行した。2016年にシドニー平和賞を受賞。自身がナオミ・ウルフと混同される経験を出発点に、陰謀論やネット上の分身、政治的分断をたどった『ドッペルゲンガー――鏡の世界への旅』（原題 “Doppelganger”）では、2024年の第1回女性ノンフィクション賞を受賞した。
Naomi Klein (born 1970) is a Canadian journalist whose reporting examines corporate power, economic inequality, and the climate crisis. Born in Montreal, she is Professor of Climate Justice at the University of British Columbia and co-director of its Centre for Climate Justice. Her investigation of how wars, disasters, and political upheavals create opportunities for privatization and radical free-market reforms appeared in “The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism” (2007). She explored the conflict between climate action and an economic system dependent on fossil fuels and continuous growth in “This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. the Climate” (2014). She received the Sydney Peace Prize in 2016. Taking her repeated confusion with Naomi Wolf as its starting point, her exploration of conspiracy culture, online identities, and political polarization, “Doppelganger: A Trip into the Mirror World” (2023), won the inaugural Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction in 2024.
