村田沙耶香(むらた さやか、Sayaka Murata、1979–) 小説家。2003年に『授乳』で群像新人文学賞を受賞してデビューし、『ギンイロノウタ』で野間文芸新人賞、『しろいろの街の、その骨の体温』で三島賞、2016年には『コンビニ人間』で芥川賞を受賞した。現代社会における「普通」や同調圧力、家族観、性、身体といったテーマを独自の発想で描き、日本国内だけでなく海外でも高い評価を得ている。代表作『コンビニ人間』(Convenience Store Woman)は、社会の規範と個人の生き方を鋭く問いかける作品として世界46の国と地域で翻訳され、国際的なベストセラーとなった。
Sayaka Murata (born 1979) is a Japanese novelist. She made her literary debut after winning the Gunzo New Writers' Prize for "Breastfeeding" and later received the Noma Literary New Face Prize for "Gin-Iro no Uta," the Mishima Yukio Prize for "Shiroiro no Machi no, Sono Hone no Taion," and the Akutagawa Prize for "Convenience Store Woman." Her fiction explores themes such as social conformity, identity, gender, family, and the boundaries of normality through an original and often unsettling imaginative style. Her best-known novel, "Convenience Store Woman," became an international bestseller, translated into dozens of languages, and established her as one of the most widely read contemporary Japanese writers.
