村上春樹（むらかみ・はるき、1949年生まれ）は、日本の小説家、翻訳家。早稲田大学第一文学部演劇学科卒業。1979年、『風の歌を聴け』で群像新人文学賞を受賞してデビューした。都市に生きる人々の孤独や喪失、記憶、愛を、現実と幻想が交錯する独自の世界観と洗練された文体で描き、世界で最も広く読まれている日本人作家の一人となっている。『羊をめぐる冒険』で野間文芸新人賞、『ねじまき鳥クロニクル』で読売文学賞、『海辺のカフカ』で世界幻想文学大賞、『1Q84』で毎日出版文化賞、『騎士団長殺し』でヤンソン賞を受賞。2006年にはフランツ・カフカ賞、2009年にはエルサレム賞、2022年にはチノ・デル・ドゥーカ世界賞を受賞するなど、国際的にも数多くの文学賞を受賞している。著書に『ノルウェイの森』『世界の終りとハードボイルド・ワンダーランド』『スプートニクの恋人』『色彩を持たない多崎つくると、彼の巡礼の年』『街とその不確かな壁』などがある。

Haruki Murakami (born 1949) is a Japanese novelist and translator, widely regarded as one of the most influential and internationally celebrated writers of contemporary literature. After graduating from Waseda University, he made his literary debut in 1979 when "Hear the Wind Sing" won the Gunzo New Writers' Prize. His fiction blends realism, surrealism, popular culture, and philosophical reflection to explore themes of loneliness, memory, love, identity, and loss. His major works have been translated into more than 50 languages and have sold millions of copies worldwide. Among his many honors are the Franz Kafka Prize, the Jerusalem Prize, and the Prix mondial Cino Del Duca. His notable books include "Norwegian Wood," "Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World," "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle," "Kafka on the Shore," "1Q84," "Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage," and "The City and Its Uncertain Walls."
