毛利 甚八（mouri jinpachi）- 著作家、劇画原作者、写真家

毛利　甚八（もうり じんぱち、1958年–2015年）は、日本の漫画原作者、ノンフィクション作家。長崎県佐世保市出身。日本大学芸術学部文芸学科を卒業後、雑誌ライターとして活動し、漫画『家栽の人』（作画・魚戸おさむ）の原作を手がけた。同作は、植物を愛する家庭裁判所判事・桑田義雄が、少年事件や家族間の争いに向き合い、当事者の生活と心情を見つめる物語である。少年院で篤志面接委員として活動し、ウクレレを教えるなど、少年たちの更生支援にも携わった。『少年院のかたち』では、少年との交流を綴るエッセイ、法務教官へのインタビュー、小説を通じて、矯正教育の現場を描く。『「家栽の人」から君への遺言 佐世保高一同級生殺害事件と少年法』では、少年法の戦後史と更生支援の実践をたどり、故郷で起きた事件の加害少女への手紙を綴った。事件を起こした少年を社会がどう受け止め、立ち直りを支えられるかを問い続けた。

Jinpachi Mouri (1958–2015) was a Japanese manga scriptwriter and nonfiction writer from Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture. After graduating from Nihon University’s College of Art, he worked as a magazine writer and wrote the manga “Kasai no Hito,” illustrated by Osamu Uoto. The series follows plant-loving family court judge Yoshio Kuwata as he addresses juvenile cases and family disputes, paying close attention to the lives and feelings of those involved. Mouri also supported young people in a juvenile training school as a volunteer counsellor and ukulele instructor. “Shonen-in no Katachi” combines personal essays, interviews with correctional educators, and fiction to depict juvenile rehabilitation. In “‘Kasai no Hito’ kara Kimi e no Yuigon,” he examines Japan’s post-war juvenile justice system and rehabilitation efforts while writing letters to the girl responsible for the Sasebo schoolmate murder. His work asks how society can understand young offenders and help them rebuild their lives.
