Mohamed El-Erian (1958–) is an Egyptian-American economist, investor, and financial commentator. He has held senior leadership positions at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and PIMCO, and is widely recognized for his analysis of the global economy, financial markets, and central banking. He has also served as President of Queens' College, Cambridge, and as Chief Economic Adviser at Allianz, contributing extensively to public debates on economic policy and international finance. His book "The Only Game in Town" examines how central banks became the primary drivers of economic stabilization after the 2008 financial crisis, while exploring the limits and long-term consequences of relying on monetary policy alone.
