Yuko Mori is a Japanese-language teacher and teacher-librarian who has worked at junior high schools and special needs schools in Nagano Prefecture since 1992. She has been involved in developing school libraries and improving access to books for children with disabilities. A qualified librarian, she is also a member of the Society for Considering Books and Child Development and a certified JPIC reading adviser. Her representative work, “Tokubetsu Shien Gakko ni Toshokan ga Dekita yo!: Tomo ni Tanoshimu Ehon to Jissen,” recounts the effort to establish a library at a school for children with intellectual disabilities and presents practical approaches to reading aloud, using picture books in class, and connecting each child with suitable books.
