森滝 丈也（MORITAKI Takeya）- 鳥羽水族館の学芸員・飼育員

森滝丈也（もりたき たけや、1969年–）は、鳥羽水族館の学芸員・飼育員。富山大学理学部生物学科を卒業後、1992年に鳥羽水族館へ入社し、水産無脊椎動物や魚類の飼育・研究に携わってきた。ダイオウグソクムシを水族館の人気生物として広く知らしめたほか、熊野灘で採集した深海生物の調査を続け、40種以上の新種記載に関わっている。2023年には、長年の活動に対して日本動物学会から感謝状を贈られた。『海のへんな生きものと暮らす僕―ダイオウグソクムシを「スター」にした水族館学芸員の飼育日記』では、飼育や採集の経験を通じて出会った、深海の無脊椎動物の特異な姿と生態を紹介している。

Takeya Moritaki (1969–) is a curator and aquarist at the Toba Aquarium. After graduating from the Department of Biology at the University of Toyama, he joined the aquarium in 1992 and has worked primarily with aquatic invertebrates and fish. He helped turn the giant isopod into one of the aquarium’s best-known creatures and has participated in the scientific description of more than forty new species collected through surveys in the Kumano Sea. In 2023, the Zoological Society of Japan presented him with a letter of appreciation for his work. In “Umi no Henna Ikimono to Kurasu Boku,” he draws on decades of collecting and husbandry experience to introduce the unusual forms and little-known behavior of deep-sea invertebrates.
