宮本輝（みやもと てる、Teru Miyamoto、1947–） 小説家。1977年に『泥の河』で太宰治賞を受賞し、翌1978年に『螢川』で芥川賞を受賞。以後、『優駿』で吉川英治文学賞、『約束の冬』で芸術選奨文部科学大臣賞、『流転の海』シリーズで毎日芸術賞を受賞するなど、日本を代表する現代作家の一人として活躍している。人生の苦難や希望、家族の絆を描いた作品で多くの読者を魅了している。代表作『流転の海』（Ryuten no Umi）は、自身の父をモデルとした主人公を中心に、戦前から戦後にかけての激動の時代を描いた自伝的長編小説である。
Teru Miyamoto (born 1947) is a Japanese novelist and one of the leading figures in contemporary Japanese literature. He first gained national recognition by winning the Dazai Osamu Prize for "Muddy River" and the following year received the Akutagawa Prize for "Hotarugawa." Since then, he has received numerous literary honors, including the Yoshikawa Eiji Literary Prize and the Mainichi Art Award. His novels, celebrated for their portrayals of hardship, hope, and the bonds of family, have earned him a wide readership. His best-known work, "Ryuten no Umi" ("The Sea of Drifting"), is an autobiographical novel cycle inspired by his father that follows a family through the upheavals of prewar and postwar Japan.
