ミリアム・トウズ（Miriam Toews、1964年 - ） カナダの小説家。マニトバ州のメノナイト共同体で育ち、その経験をもとに、信仰、家族、自由、喪失、女性の生き方をユーモアと深い共感を交えて描く作品で知られる。代表作『ウーマン・トーキング』は、ボリビアのメノナイト共同体で実際に起きた集団性暴力事件に着想を得て、暴力と沈黙に直面した女性たちが未来を選び取ろうとする姿を描いた長編小説で、現代文学を代表する作品の一つとして高く評価された。2022年には映画化され、アカデミー賞脚色賞を受賞している。
Miriam Toews (born 1964) is a Canadian novelist whose fiction explores faith, family, freedom, loss, and the lives of women with compassion, wit, and emotional depth. Raised in a Mennonite community in Manitoba, she draws extensively on that background in her writing. Her acclaimed novel *Women Talking*, inspired by real events in a Bolivian Mennonite colony, follows a group of women as they confront violence and decide how to shape their future. The novel was widely praised for its moral and psychological insight and was adapted into an Academy Award-winning film for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2022.
