Takashi Miyajima (born 1940) is a Japanese sociologist and professor emeritus at Ochanomizu University. After leaving the doctoral program in sociology at the University of Tokyo, he taught at Ochanomizu University, Rikkyo University, and Hosei University. Drawing on French sociology, particularly the theories of Émile Durkheim and Pierre Bourdieu, he has conducted extensive research on migration, foreign workers, ethnic minorities, and social integration in Europe and Japan. His representative work, "Tabunka Kyōsei no Shakai e no Jōken: Nihon to Yōroppa, Imin Seisaku o Toinaosu," compares Japan’s approach to accepting foreign residents with European experience and examines how systems governing employment, education, family formation, and nationality shape immigrants’ lives and participation in society.
