Meghan O'Rourke (born 1976) is an American nonfiction writer, poet, critic, and editor. A graduate of Yale University, she has written for *The New Yorker*, *Slate*, and *The New York Times*, and currently serves as editor of *The Yale Review*. Her work is acclaimed for its thoughtful exploration of grief, illness, memory, and the human body. Her nonfiction book *The Invisible Kingdom: Reimagining Chronic Illness* combines memoir with investigative reporting to examine the realities of chronic illness and the limitations of modern medicine. A finalist for the 2022 National Book Award for Nonfiction, it has become a landmark work in contemporary writing about health and chronic disease.
