キラン・デサイ（Kiran Desai、1971–）は、インド生まれの小説家。インド、イギリスを経てアメリカで学び、多文化的な背景を生かした作品で国際的な評価を得ている。移民、アイデンティティ、格差、グローバル化といったテーマを繊細な人物描写とユーモアを交えて描き、現代英語文学を代表する作家の一人として知られる。2006年には『喪失の響き』でブッカー賞を受賞した。代表作『喪失の響き』では、インドのヒマラヤ山麓とアメリカを舞台に、植民地主義の遺産や文化の衝突、移民たちの葛藤を描いている。
Kiran Desai (1971–) is an Indian-born novelist. Educated in India, the United Kingdom, and the United States, she is acclaimed for fiction that explores migration, identity, inequality, and globalization through richly observed characters and subtle humor. In 2006, she won the Booker Prize for "The Inheritance of Loss", establishing herself as one of the leading voices in contemporary English-language literature. Her best-known novel, "The Inheritance of Loss", intertwines lives in the Indian Himalayas and the United States to examine the enduring effects of colonialism, cultural displacement, and the search for belonging.
