Kathleen DuVal（キャスリーン・デュヴァル、1970年生まれ）は、アメリカの歴史学者。University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill歴史学教授。Stanford Universityで歴史学を学び、University of California, Davisで博士号を取得した。専門は初期アメリカ史、アメリカ先住民史、植民地史で、先住民の視点から北米の歴史を再構築する研究で国際的に高い評価を受けている。2024年刊行の "Native Nations: A Millennium in North America" は、北米先住民の1000年にわたる歴史を壮大なスケールで描き、2025年にPulitzer Prize for History、Bancroft Prize、Cundill History Prizeなどを受賞した。著書に "The Native Ground"、"Independence Lost"、"Native Nations" などがある。
Kathleen DuVal (born 1970) is an American historian and Professor of History at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned her B.A. in History from Stanford University and her Ph.D. in U.S. History from the University of California, Davis. Specializing in early American, colonial, and Native American history, she is widely recognized for reshaping the history of North America through the perspectives and experiences of Indigenous nations. Her book "Native Nations: A Millennium in North America" received the 2025 Pulitzer Prize for History, as well as the Bancroft Prize, the Cundill History Prize, and the Mark Lynton History Prize, establishing it as one of the most acclaimed works of recent American history. Her other notable books include "The Native Ground," "Independence Lost," and "Native Nations."
