略歴(Biography)
木下是雄(きのした・これお、1917–2014)は、日本の物理学者、科学評論家。東京帝国大学理学部卒業後、名古屋大学、学習院大学で教鞭を執り、1981年から1985年まで学習院大学学長を務めた。薄膜や固体表面の物理学を専門とする一方、科学教育や文章技術にも深い関心を寄せ、「ロゲルギスト」の一員として科学エッセイを執筆した。1981年刊行の『理科系の作文技術』は、論理的で明快な文章を書くための実践書として長年読み継がれるロングセラーとなり、理工系にとどまらず幅広い読者に影響を与えている。著書に『レポートの組み立て方』『物理・山・ことば』などがある。

Koreo Kinoshita (1917–2014) was a Japanese physicist, science educator, and essayist. After graduating from the University of Tokyo, he taught at Nagoya University and Gakushuin University, serving as President of Gakushuin University from 1981 to 1985. While specializing in the physics of thin films and solid surfaces, he also became widely known for his writings on scientific communication and education. As a member of the essay group Rogergist, he published numerous essays on science and language. His best-known book, Writing Skills for Scientists and Engineers (Rika-kei no Sakubun Gijutsu), has remained a classic guide to clear, logical writing for researchers, engineers, and students for more than four decades. His other works include How to Organize a Report and Physics, Mountains, and Words.
