Geetanjali Shree（ギーターンジャリ･シュリー、1957年生まれ）は、インドの小説家、短編作家。インド・ウッタル・プラデーシュ州マインプリー生まれ。ジャワハルラール・ネルー大学で歴史学の修士号を取得した後、ヒンディー語による創作活動を始めた。記憶、家族、ジェンダー、宗教、インド分離独立の歴史をテーマに、詩的で実験的な文体と豊かな言葉遊びを織り交ぜた作品で高く評価され、現代インド文学を代表する作家の一人とされる。2018年刊行の『砂の境界』（原題：Ret Samadhi）は、夫を亡くした80歳の女性がインドとパキスタンの国境を越える旅を通して、自らの過去やアイデンティティと向き合う姿を描いた長編小説として高く評価され、英訳版 Tomb of Sand が2022年のInternational Booker Prizeを受賞した。これはヒンディー語作品として初めて同賞を受賞した作品である。著書に『砂の境界』などがある。
Geetanjali Shree (born 1957) is an Indian novelist and short story writer. Born in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, she earned a master's degree in history from Jawaharlal Nehru University before turning to creative writing in Hindi. Widely regarded as one of the leading voices in contemporary Indian literature, she is celebrated for her lyrical, formally inventive fiction exploring memory, family, gender, religion, and the legacy of the Partition of India. Her novel Ret Samadhi (2018), translated into English as Tomb of Sand, won the 2022 International Booker Prize, becoming the first Hindi-language novel to receive the award. Her other notable works include Mai, Our City That Year, The Roof Beneath Their Feet, The Empty Space, and Tomb of Sand.
