Caspar Henderson（キャスパー・ヘンダーソン） イギリスのジャーナリスト、ノンフィクション作家。ケンブリッジ大学で学び、エネルギー、科学、環境、人権などをテーマに30年以上にわたり取材と執筆を続けている。BBC Radio 4、「Financial Times」、「The Guardian」、「Nature」、「New Scientist」など数多くのメディアに寄稿し、科学と人文学を横断する幅広い視点と豊かな文章で知られる。代表作『The Book of Barely Imagined Beings: A 21st Century Bestiary』（未邦訳）は、現実に存在する驚異的な生物を題材に、生物学、進化論、神話、文学、哲学を織り交ぜながら生命の多様性と人間の想像力を描いた作品である。独創的な現代版ベスティアリー（動物寓話集）として高い評価を受け、2013年ロイヤル・ソサエティ・ウィントン科学図書賞の最終候補に選ばれた。その後も「A New Map of Wonders」「A Book of Noises」を通じて、自然界への驚きと知的好奇心を喚起する作品を発表し続けている。
Caspar Henderson is a British writer and journalist based in Oxford, England. Educated at the University of Cambridge, he has spent more than three decades writing about science, energy, the environment, and human rights. His work has appeared in "Financial Times," "The Guardian," "Nature," "New Scientist," BBC Radio 4, and many other publications. Known for combining scientific insight with literature, history, and philosophy, he writes books that inspire curiosity about the natural world. His best-known work, "The Book of Barely Imagined Beings: A 21st Century Bestiary," explores some of Earth's most extraordinary living creatures through the lens of biology, evolution, mythology, and culture. Acclaimed as a modern bestiary celebrating the diversity of life, the book was shortlisted for the 2013 Royal Society Winton Prize for Science Books. He later expanded his exploration of wonder in "A New Map of Wonders" and "A Book of Noises."
