Carol Anderson（キャロル・アンダーソン、1959年生まれ）は、アメリカの歴史学者。Emory Universityアフリカ系アメリカ人研究学部教授。専門はアフリカ系アメリカ人史、公民権運動、投票権、人種差別、社会正義で、アメリカにおける人種的不平等の歴史と制度的背景を研究している。豊富な史料と緻密な歴史分析をもとに、公民権の進展とそれに対する反発の歴史を明らかにする研究で高い評価を受けている。学術研究と一般向けノンフィクションの双方で活躍し、人種、民主主義、市民権をめぐる現代アメリカの課題を歴史的視点から考察する代表的な歴史家の一人として広く知られている。
Carol Anderson (born 1959) is an American historian. She is the Charles Howard Candler Professor of African American Studies at Emory University. Her research focuses on African American history, civil rights, voting rights, racial inequality, and social justice, with particular emphasis on the historical roots of systemic racism in the United States. Drawing on extensive archival research and historical analysis, Anderson examines the recurring tensions between democratic progress and resistance to racial equality. Through both her academic scholarship and widely read nonfiction, she has established herself as one of the leading interpreters of race, citizenship, and democracy in American history.
