ケイト・ビートン（Kate Beaton、1983年 - ）カナダの漫画家、作家。ノバスコシア州ケープ・ブレトン島で育ち、マウント・アリソン大学で歴史と文化人類学を学んだ。歴史上の人物や文学作品をユーモラスに描くウェブコミック『Hark! A Vagrant』（未邦訳）で注目を集め、絵本やグラフィックノベルにも活動の幅を広げた。代表作『DUCKS（ダックス）仕事って何？お金？やりがい？』は、学生ローンを返済するため、アルバータ州のオイルサンド採掘現場で働いた自身の二年間を描く回想録。過酷な労働、男性中心の職場、環境破壊を複雑な人間模様とともに捉え、2023年のアイズナー賞で最優秀グラフィック回想録賞と最優秀作家賞を受賞した。

Kate Beaton (born 1983) is a Canadian cartoonist and author from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. After studying history and anthropology at Mount Allison University, she gained a wide readership through *Hark! A Vagrant*, a webcomic that playfully reimagines figures from history and literature. Her graphic memoir *Ducks: Two Years in the Oil Sands* recounts the two years she spent working in Alberta’s oil sands to repay her student loans. Combining personal experience with reflections on labor, gender, isolation, and environmental damage, the book won the 2023 Eisner Awards for Best Graphic Memoir and Best Writer/Artist.
