Rikie Ishii (born 1973) is a Japanese creativity researcher and specialist in idea-generation methods. After earning a master's degree from the Graduate School of Science at Tohoku University, he worked in industry and as a NEDO Fellow before pursuing research in creativity engineering and creative problem solving. He is the founder and head of IDEAPLANT, a board member of the Japan Creativity Society, and a part-time lecturer at Waseda University and Meijo University. He has conducted workshops and training programs on brainstorming and idea generation for companies and educational institutions while developing tools designed to support creative thinking. In "AI wo Tsukatte Kangaeru Tame no Zen-Gijutsu," Ishii applies techniques of ideation and creative thinking to generative AI, presenting 56 practical methods for using AI not simply to obtain answers but to expand human thinking, generate alternatives, and develop new approaches to problems.
