石原 薫（ISHIHARA Kaoru）- 翻訳家

石原薫（いしはら かおる）は、経営、デザイン、文化などの英語書籍を訳す日本の翻訳家。2003年に翻訳家としてデビューした。エド・キャットムルとエイミー・ワラスの『新・ピクサー流 創造するちから』では、創造的な組織を率いる際の率直な対話や失敗への向き合い方を、ピクサーの経験から紹介。ナサリア・ホルトの『アニメーションの女王たち』では、ディズニーの制作を支えた女性たちの仕事と、職場で直面した障壁を伝えている。ケヴィン・J・ブラウンの『歴史を旅する世界地図図鑑』では、地図を単なる地理情報ではなく、時代の思想や世界観を映すものとして読み解く著作を訳している。

Kaoru Ishihara is a Japanese translator of English-language books on management, design, and culture who began working in book translation in 2003. Ed Catmull and Amy Wallace’s expanded edition of “Creativity, Inc.” draws on Pixar’s experience to examine candid discussion, failure, and the leadership of creative organizations. Nathalia Holt’s “The Queens of Animation” follows women whose work shaped Disney animation and the obstacles they encountered in the workplace. Kevin J. Brown’s illustrated history of world maps considers maps as expressions of ideas and worldviews as well as sources of geographic information. Ishihara’s translations introduce the people and working practices behind cultural and creative achievements.
