Yuri Inoue (born 1953) is a Japanese culinary researcher and essayist. She spent much of her childhood in Prague, Czechoslovakia, where she attended a Soviet school. After graduating from Hokkaido University and working as a high school science teacher, she studied at the Tsuji Culinary Institute and trained in restaurants in northern Italy. Upon returning to Japan, she established her own Italian cooking school and began a career as a culinary instructor and writer. She is the younger sister of Russian interpreter and author Mari Yonehara and married the celebrated novelist and playwright Hisashi Inoue in 1987. Her publications include Starting Today, I'm a First-Class Chef, My Sister, Mari Yonehara, and the edited volume Talking About Mari Yonehara.
