Chiaki Ikemura is a Japanese translator of books on management, organizations, and working life. In Lynda Gratton and Andrew Scott’s “The 100-Year Life,” published in Japanese as “LIFE SHIFT,” Ikemura introduces a reconsideration of the conventional sequence of education, employment, and retirement. The book examines how continued learning and personal relationships can support longer lives. Ikemura has also translated related books on longevity and life planning. Juliet B. Schor’s “Four Days a Week” examines experiments that reduce working days without cutting pay, exploring the relationship between productivity and quality of life. Other translations include Henry Mintzberg’s work on organizational forms and John P. Kotter and colleagues’ account of organizational change.
