Tadamasa Ihara is a Japanese novelist and screenwriter known for historical fiction. A graduate of Chuo University’s Faculty of Law, he began his career as a screenwriter under the name Maruo Kyozuka after his screenplay "Rendan" was selected for the 25th Kido Award in 2000. He made his debut as a historical novelist in 2016 with "Zeni ga Nasake no Shinjiro: Hatamoto Kinyudo (1)," which later received the Historical and Period Authors Club Newcomer Award. In 2020, writing as Tadamasa Ihara, he launched the "Mikawa Zohyo Kokoroe" series. The novels follow Mohei Ueda, a farmer who becomes a foot soldier in the service of the Tokugawa and gradually rises through the ranks amid the wars of the Sengoku period. Rather than focusing on famous warlords, the series portrays battles from the viewpoint of an ordinary soldier, depicting the fear of combat, injuries, food, rewards, and relationships among the men who fought on the front lines.
