市川沙央（いちかわ さおう、1979–） 日本の小説家。先天性ミオパチーによる重度の身体障害とともに生きる自身の経験を背景に、身体、障害、ケア、ジェンダー、性をめぐる問題を鋭く描いている。2023年、デビュー作『ハンチバック』で第128回文學界新人賞と第169回芥川賞を受賞。同作は、重度障害者施設で暮らす女性の欲望や読書、創作を描き、文学や出版が健常者を前提としてきたことにも問いを投げかけた。海外でも翻訳・刊行され、障害者の身体と表現をめぐる議論を広げる作品となった。
Saou Ichikawa (1979–) is a Japanese novelist whose work draws on her experience of living with congenital myopathy. Her fiction examines disability, the body, care, gender, and sexuality while questioning the assumptions that shape literature and society. In 2023, her debut novel, "Hunchback," won both the Bungakukai New Writers' Award and the 169th Akutagawa Prize. Told from the perspective of a woman living in a residential care facility, the novel explores desire, reading, and creative expression while challenging a literary culture largely designed around able-bodied readers and writers. Its publication in translation has brought these questions to an international audience.
