Nabiko Plessy is a Japanese translator of nonfiction on psychology, science, business, and the environment. In Tyler Cowen and Daniel Gross’s “Talent,” she translated a discussion of how to recognize ability, potential, and personality beyond conventional recruitment habits. Her translation of Martin Wikelski’s work on the animal internet introduces research that uses tracking devices to understand movement, behavior, and environmental change. She also contributed to the Japanese translation of Ann Swanson’s “Science of Yoga,” which connects illustrated postures with anatomy and physiology. Her translations explore human and animal behavior through both scientific findings and concrete examples.
