Iwan Fushimi (born 1951) is a Japanese translator renowned for his work in both fiction and nonfiction. Born in Tokyo, he graduated from Waseda University's School of Commerce and worked for a trading company before making his debut as a translator in 1984. Over the course of his career, he has translated a wide range of works, including thrillers, military fiction, literary classics, history, politics, economics, and international affairs. Widely regarded as one of Japan's leading literary and nonfiction translators, Fushimi is known for faithfully conveying the style, tone, and complexity of the original texts. His notable translations include The World Is Flat, The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life, The Quest: Energy, Security, and the Remaking of the Modern World, World Order, Winston Churchill's The Second World War (complete edition), and John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath.
