フランシス・フクヤマ（Francis Fukuyama、1952–）は、アメリカの政治学者。スタンフォード大学フリーマン・スポグリ国際問題研究所上級研究員を務め、民主主義、国家制度、政治秩序、国際政治を専門としている。1989年に発表した論文「歴史の終わり？」と、それを発展させた著書『歴史の終わり』によって世界的な注目を集めた。その後も国家形成や政治制度、アイデンティティ政治、リベラルな民主主義が直面する課題について幅広く研究を続けている。代表作『歴史の終わり』は、冷戦終結後の国際秩序を読み解く重要な著作として、現在も世界各国で議論を呼んでいる。
Francis Fukuyama (1952–) is an American political scientist. A senior fellow at Stanford University's Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, his research focuses on democracy, political institutions, state-building, and international politics. He gained international recognition with his 1989 essay "The End of History?" and its expanded book, "The End of History and the Last Man", which sparked a global debate on the future of liberal democracy after the Cold War. Since then, he has written extensively on political order, governance, identity, and the challenges facing liberal democratic societies. His best-known work, "The End of History and the Last Man", remains one of the most influential books in contemporary political thought.
