Faiz Siddiqui is a journalist covering technology companies and their impact on society. He studied journalism at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and graduated in 2015. As a student, he participated in international reporting projects. His feature “Saving Sisay,” about an Ethiopian boy living with scoliosis, won first place in the feature-writing category of the 2014–15 Hearst Journalism Awards. At The Washington Post, he covered companies including Tesla, Uber, and Twitter, now X, reporting on transportation, social media, and the relationship between business and government. He joined the newspaper’s business investigations team in 2024. His 2025 book “Hubris Maximus: The Shattering of Elon Musk,” scheduled to appear in Japanese in December 2026 as “Goman no Teikoku: Elon Musk wo Tomerarenakatta Sekai,” drew on his continuing reporting on Musk and his companies to examine the entrepreneur’s business leadership. Following Tesla’s growth and Musk’s acquisition of Twitter and its transformation into X, it investigated business decisions, relationships with employees, and conflicts with regulators. Through reporting and accounts from inside the companies, the book examined the forces sustaining Musk’s image as an innovative executive and the consequences of his decisions for people around him.
