Kuniaki Fukunaga (1940–) is a Japanese film publicist and former head of Toei’s publicity department. After graduating from Chuo University, he joined Toei in 1963 and began working in its head-office publicity division in 1966. He promoted major Toei series including “Battles Without Honor and Humanity,” “Truck Yaro,” and “Gokudo no Onna-tachi,” as well as Kadokawa productions such as “Sailor Suit and Machine Gun” and “G.I. Samurai.” In “Jitsuroku! Toei Sankaku Maku Sendenbu,” he recounts the campaigns, production-site episodes, and personal connections behind film publicity and theatrical exhibition during the Showa era.
