Yoiko Fujimi is a Japanese manga artist from Fukuoka Prefecture. She made her debut in 2014 with “Futarijime: Sengoku Fūfu Monogatari” and has since created works ranging from historical manga to stories rooted in contemporary life. Her representative work, “Hanbun Kyōdai,” ranked first in both the 2025 CREA Late-Night Manga Awards and the women’s division of “Kono Manga ga Sugoi! 2026,” and was nominated for the Manga Grand Prize at the 30th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize. Drawing on her own experience of having mixed roots as well as extensive interviews, the ensemble drama follows siblings with a French father and Japanese mother and other people from diverse backgrounds as they confront being treated as outsiders in Japan and discover differences in understanding even within their own families.
