ブルース・シュナイアー（Bruce Schneier、1963年–）は、アメリカのセキュリティ技術者、暗号研究者、公共政策研究者。暗号技術やコンピューターセキュリティの専門家として活動を始め、インターネットの普及とともに、プライバシー、監視、サイバーセキュリティ、AI、公共政策などへ研究・執筆領域を広げてきた。ハーバード大学Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Societyのフェロー、Harvard Kennedy Schoolの講師を務めるほか、InruptのChief of Security Architectureを務める。代表作『ハッキング思考 強者はいかにしてルールを歪めるのか、それを正すにはどうしたらいいのか』（原題 "A Hacker's Mind: How the Powerful Bend Society's Rules, and How to Bend Them Back"）では、「ハッキング」をコンピューターへの侵入に限定せず、金融、税制、法律、政治、認知など社会のルールの抜け穴を利用する行為として捉え、権力を持つ企業や個人が制度を自らに有利な形で利用する仕組みを分析するとともに、AIがこうした社会システムのハッキングを大規模かつ高速に行う可能性を論じている。
Bruce Schneier (born 1963) is an American security technologist, cryptographer, and public policy scholar. Beginning his career as an expert in cryptography and computer security, he has expanded his work to examine privacy, surveillance, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and public policy as digital technologies have become embedded throughout society. He is a Fellow at Harvard University's Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society, a Lecturer in Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, and Chief of Security Architecture at Inrupt. In "A Hacker's Mind: How the Powerful Bend Society's Rules, and How to Bend Them Back," Schneier extends the concept of hacking beyond computer systems to finance, taxation, law, politics, and human cognition, examining how powerful individuals and organizations exploit gaps in social rules for their own advantage and how artificial intelligence could make such forms of systemic hacking faster and more powerful.
