ブライアン・クリスチャン（Brian Christian、1984年 - ）は、アメリカのコンピュータ科学者、認知科学者。ブラウン大学でコンピュータサイエンスと哲学を学び、ワシントン大学で詩のMFAを取得した後、オックスフォード大学でDPhilを取得。計算認知科学やAIアラインメントを研究し、コンピュータ科学の知見を人間の思考や意思決定、AIと人間の関係へと結びつけてきた。代表作『アルゴリズム思考術 問題解決の最強ツール』（原題 "Algorithms to Live By: The Computer Science of Human Decisions"、トム・グリフィスとの共著）では、最適停止、探索と活用、スケジューリング、ランダム性など、コンピュータ科学で使われるアルゴリズムを日常生活の意思決定に応用。いつ決断するか、何を優先するか、どこまで情報を集めるべきかといった問題を通して、コンピュータが問題を解く方法から人間の判断を捉え直している。
Brian Christian (born 1984) is an American computer scientist and cognitive scientist whose work explores the connections between computing, human cognition, decision-making, and artificial intelligence. He studied computer science and philosophy at Brown University, earned an MFA in poetry from the University of Washington, and later completed a DPhil at the University of Oxford. His research spans computational cognitive science and AI alignment, including questions about how increasingly capable AI systems can be made compatible with human goals and values. In "Algorithms to Live By: The Computer Science of Human Decisions," co-authored with Tom Griffiths, Christian applies ideas from computer science—including optimal stopping, explore/exploit tradeoffs, scheduling, and randomness—to everyday human decisions. The book shows how the strategies computers use to solve difficult problems can offer insights into when to make decisions, how to set priorities, and how much information to gather before acting.
