Hiroshi Honda (1968–) is a Japanese political scientist and professor in the Faculty of Law at Hokkai-Gakuen University. His research focuses on political processes, social movements, and comparative politics, particularly environmental movements and energy policy in Japan and Germany. In “Datsu Genshiryoku no Undo to Seiji” (『脱原子力の運動と政治』), he examines the political processes surrounding Japan’s nuclear policy. “Sanka to Kosho no Seijigaku: Doitsu ga Datsugenpatsu o Kimeru made” (『参加と交渉の政治学 ドイツが脱原発を決めるまで』) traces how civic movements, political parties, and negotiation shaped Germany’s decision to phase out nuclear power. His forthcoming book “Chinmoku suru Doitsu: Han-Yudayashugi, Gaza, Isuraeru” (『沈黙するドイツ――反ユダヤ主義、ガザ、イスラエル』) examines the political and social structures through which criticism of Israel is treated as antisemitism in Germany. Across these works, Honda studies how social movements interact with political decision-making.
