ヘンリー・ルイス・ゲイツ・ジュニア（Henry Louis Gates Jr.、1950–） 文学研究者、歴史家。ハーバード大学教授。専門はアフリカ系アメリカ人文学、アメリカ史、文化研究で、アフリカ系アメリカ人の歴史や文学、アイデンティティに関する研究を牽引してきた。PBSの歴史ドキュメンタリー番組『Finding Your Roots』の司会者としても広く知られ、学術研究と一般向けの歴史普及の両面で大きな役割を果たしている。代表作『The Black Church: This Is Our Story, This Is Our Song』（未邦訳）は、アメリカ黒人教会の歴史と文化、その社会的・政治的役割をたどったノンフィクションである。
Henry Louis Gates Jr. (born 1950) is an American literary scholar, historian, and the Alphonse Fletcher University Professor at Harvard University. A leading authority on African American literature, history, and culture, he has played a central role in bringing Black history and intellectual traditions to wider audiences. He is also widely known as the host of the PBS series *Finding Your Roots*, which explores genealogy and family history. His best-known book, "The Black Church: This Is Our Story, This Is Our Song," examines the history of the Black Church and its enduring influence on American religion, culture, and civil rights.
