ヘレン・フィールディング（Helen Fielding、1958年 - ）は、イギリスの小説家、脚本家、ジャーナリスト。BBCでテレビ番組の制作に携わったのち、新聞『インディペンデント』で架空の独身女性の日常を綴るコラム「ブリジット・ジョーンズの日記」を連載し、1996年に小説として刊行した。代表作『ブリジット・ジョーンズの日記』（原題 Bridget Jones's Diary）は、ロンドンで暮らす30代の独身女性ブリジットが、恋愛や仕事、家族との関係に悩みながら、体重や飲酒量、喫煙本数まで日記に記録して奮闘する一年を描いた小説。失敗を繰り返しながら理想の自分になろうとするブリジットの日常をユーモアと自嘲を交えて描き、1998年のBritish Book AwardsでBook of the Yearを受賞した。
Helen Fielding (born 1958) is a British novelist, screenwriter, and journalist. After working in television production at the BBC, she created the fictional character Bridget Jones for a newspaper column in The Independent, which became the basis for her 1996 novel "Bridget Jones's Diary." The novel follows Bridget, a single woman in her thirties living in London, as she records her struggles with relationships, work, family, weight, drinking, and smoking over the course of a year. Through Bridget’s repeated attempts at self-improvement and her often comic failures, Fielding portrays the pressures and contradictions of contemporary single life with humor and self-deprecation. "Bridget Jones's Diary" won Book of the Year at the 1998 British Book Awards.
