Bethany Allen (also known as Bethany Allen-Ebrahimian) is an American journalist and nonfiction author specializing in China's politics, economy, technology, and global influence. She serves as Head of China Investigations and Analysis at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI). Previously, she was China reporter at Axios and the lead reporter for the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) China Cables investigation, which exposed the inner workings of the mass internment system in Xinjiang. Recognized for her rigorous investigative reporting and deep expertise on China, Allen has become one of the leading journalists examining Beijing's use of economic power, technology, and political influence in international affairs.
