パーシヴァル・エヴェレット（Percival Everett、1956年生まれ）は、アメリカの小説家、短編作家、文学研究者。南カリフォルニア大学特別教授（Distinguished Professor of English）。マイアミ大学卒業後、ブラウン大学で修士号を取得した。風刺、ユーモア、哲学的思索を織り交ぜながら、人種、アイデンティティ、言語、アメリカ社会を鋭く描く作品で高く評価され、現代アメリカ文学を代表する作家の一人とされる。2001年の『Erasure』は2023年に映画『American Fiction』として映画化され、アカデミー賞脚色賞を受賞した。2024年刊行の『James』は、ハックルベリー・フィンの冒険を奴隷ジムの視点から描き直した意欲作として、2024年の全米図書賞および2025年のピューリッツァー賞 フィクション部門を受賞した。著書に『Erasure』『I Am Not Sidney Poitier』『The Trees』『Dr. No』『James』などがある。
Percival Everett (born 1956) is an American novelist, short story writer, and literary scholar. He is Distinguished Professor of English at the University of Southern California. After earning his bachelor's degree from the University of Miami and a master's degree from Brown University, he established himself as one of the leading voices in contemporary American literature. Blending satire, philosophical inquiry, and dark humor, his fiction explores race, identity, language, and the complexities of American society. His 2001 novel Erasure was adapted into the Academy Award-winning film American Fiction. His acclaimed 2024 novel James, a reimagining of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn from the perspective of the enslaved Jim, won the 2024 National Book Award for Fiction and the 2025 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. His other notable works include Erasure, I Am Not Sidney Poitier, The Trees, and Dr. No.
