Takahiro Hattori (born 1982) is a Japanese economist. After completing a master’s degree in economics at Hitotsubashi University in 2008, he joined Nomura Securities and later worked at the Policy Research Institute of Japan’s Ministry of Finance before moving to the University of Tokyo. He is currently a project associate professor at the Center for Advanced Research in Finance, where his research covers bond markets, monetary policy, and international finance. His principal work, “Nihon Kokusai Nyumon” (“Introduction to Japanese Government Bonds”), explains the Japanese government bond market through both theory and practice, including bond pricing and yields, auctions, institutional investors, Bank of Japan purchases, the yield curve, and interest-rate swaps.
