服部 英雄（HATTORI Hideo）- 歴史学者

服部英雄（はっとり ひでお、1949–） 日本の歴史学者。日本中世史を専門とし、文化庁文化財調査官、九州大学大学院比較社会文化研究院教授などを歴任。文献史料に加え、地名、景観、古道、現地調査や聞き取りなどを手がかりに、地域社会や人々の暮らしを具体的に復元する研究を行ってきた。『景観にさぐる中世』で角川源義賞を受賞。代表作『河原ノ者・非人・秀吉』では、中世史料に登場する河原ノ者や非人、声聞師など、差別された人々が担った仕事や社会的役割を各地の史料から検証するとともに、豊臣秀吉の出自や秀頼の父をめぐる問題にも踏み込み、中世から近世へ移る社会の姿を従来とは異なる角度から描き出した。同書で第66回毎日出版文化賞を受賞した。

Hideo Hattori (1949–) A Japanese historian specializing in medieval Japanese history. He has served as a cultural properties investigator at Japan's Agency for Cultural Affairs and as a professor at Kyushu University. His research combines written sources with place names, landscapes, old roads, fieldwork, and oral testimony to reconstruct the lives and social structures of local communities. His "Keikan ni Saguru Chusei" received the Kadokawa Genyoshi Prize. In "Kawara no Mono, Hinin, Hideyoshi," he examines marginalized groups in medieval Japan—including kawara no mono, hinin, and shomonji—and reconstructs the occupations and social roles they performed. The book also investigates Toyotomi Hideyoshi's origins and the disputed paternity of his son Hideyori, offering a detailed picture of social change from medieval to early modern Japan. The book received the Mainichi Publishing Culture Award.
