略歴(Biography)
濱野大道(はまの・ひろみち)は、日本の翻訳家。ロンドン大学東洋アフリカ学院(SOAS)卒業、同大学院修了。政治、国際情勢、歴史、社会問題を中心とするノンフィクションの翻訳を数多く手がけ、正確で読みやすい訳文に定評がある。民主主義、権威主義、戦争、監視社会など現代世界の重要課題を扱う海外の話題作を日本に紹介してきた。主な訳書に『民主主義の死に方』『少数派の横暴』『AI監獄ウイグル』『津波の霊たち』『黒い迷宮』『トーキング・トゥ・ストレンジャーズ』などがある。
Hiromichi Hamano is a Japanese translator specializing in nonfiction on politics, international affairs, history, and contemporary social issues. He graduated from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, and completed his postgraduate studies there. Widely respected for his accurate and accessible translations, he has introduced many influential works on democracy, authoritarianism, war, surveillance, and global politics to Japanese readers. His notable translations include "How Democracies Die," "Tyranny of the Minority," "The Perfect Police State," "Ghosts of the Tsunami," "People Who Eat Darkness," and "Talking to Strangers."
